Turning education data into meaningful action

In a nutshell

EVIDALI – Evidence-Informed Data Literacy Strategies for Schools is a three-year Erasmus+ project that supports schools, teachers, and policymakers in making better use of education data. Coordinated by European Schoolnet with partners from across Europe, the project explores how data literacy strategies can be effectively designed and implemented at both policy and school level.

Through mapping, large-scale surveys, policy labs, and validated good practices, EVIDALI helps bridge the gap between data and day-to-day decision making in schools. The project will deliver a free MOOC, practical resources, and policy recommendations to build data capacity and empower educators across Europe.

Project objectives and outcomes

Develop the capacity of policymakers to design evidence-informed data literacy strategies by carrying out a mapping analysis of existing digital literacy policies and support measures across EU Member States, with a focus on school strategies and teacher capacity building.

Develop a community of policymakers and researchers by facilitating Policy Learning Labs to enhance the capacity to design effective, evidence-based data literacy policies through collaboration. To support this, detailed case studies based on national strategies will be developed.

Analyse actual use of data and needs in terms of data literacy training for teachers by conducting a large-scale representative survey of schools.

Enrich the quality of the repertoire of data uses. One of the expected outcomes is to validate good practices through direct engagement with teachers and trainers, and to develop a free MOOC to strengthen teacher capacity in data literacy.
