Building the foundations for data literacy in schools across Europe
|
EVIDALI Development Diary #1 |
The recently launched EVIDALI project explores what conditions are necessary for data literacy strategies to effectively harness data for teaching and learning in primary and secondary schools. Recognising the diversity of European education systems, the project also examines how such strategies can be adapted to local contexts to remain relevant and sustainable.
Literature review on data literacy in education published
A focused literature review on data literacy in and of education has been carried out, offering new insights into how data literacy in schools is defined and measured in existing research. The review draws on a systematic search and critical evaluation of the literature, highlighting the strengths, weaknesses, limitations, and biases across current studies.
Empowering evidence-informed education across Europe: launch of the EVIDALI project
The EU funded project EVIDALI - Evidence-Informed Data Literacy for Policy & Practice, addresses: What conditions are needed for data-literacy strategies to succeed in diverse school contexts? By combining rigorous policy mapping, collaborative learning labs and direct engagement with teachers, EVIDALI will bridge the divide between data collection and data-informed practice.
